The creation of iQuest
We founded iQuest in 2003. We were 3 friends, originally classmates from high school in Beroun. Vlada Charvat, Josef Liska and Jirka Fischer.
But it all started much earlier.
IT was a completely new field after 1989, and as students we gradually started earning extra money by assembling computers, installing programs from floppy disks, removing viruses from PCs using various tools and manually in Volkov Commander, and helping people with computers in general. We had a lot of fun doing it.
The period of CHL computers, s.r.o., starting college and Jirka's departure to the USA. Our graduation was approaching, we bought our first mobile phone, a Nokia 5110, and we suddenly turned 18. And we could start a normal company. Vláďa and Pepa founded CHL computers, s.r.o.
Jirka had other things on his mind at the time. Hockey, his lifelong hobby, turned into a profession. He was drafted into the NHL by the Detroit Red Wings. He later won the Stanley Cup and the World Championship for the Czech Republic.
Vláďa and Josef went to university. Vláďa studied at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics at VŠE, majoring in Information Technology, while Josef attended FEL ČVUT. We continued working even during our studies. Our first company headquarters was in Černošice near Prague, but we often worked at Vláďa's home in Všenory, in a room converted into an office. We started programming, and we enjoyed it. For example, we developed a large information system for the communication operator GTS (later part of T-Mobile) and an extensive website with a content management system, official notice board, and other features for Černošice - a municipality with extended powers (formerly a district town), for which we received the award 'Discovery of the Ministry of the Interior”.
iQuest today
iQuest has grown into a stable software company since 2003. Today, it has a number of successful implementations and is a long-term partner of large companies and interesting startups. The current partners remain Vláďa and Jirka. Josef separated and now focuses more on server technologies and the cloud with his own company. He continues to work closely with iQuest.
Just as we, the original partners, remained loyal as friends, we ensure that iQuest is a good software partner for its customers.
